Time management is a crucial skill that everyone should master. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of daily life and lose sight of our goals. However, with good time management skills, you can effectively manage your time and accomplish your goals.

The first step in effective time management is to prioritize your tasks. Start by creating a to-do list for the day or week and rank your tasks in order of importance. This will help you focus on the tasks that matter most and ensure that you complete them on time.

Another important aspect of time management is setting goals. Without clear goals, it’s easy to lose sight of what you’re working towards. When setting goals, make sure they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). This will help you stay focused and motivated.

One of the biggest time-wasters is procrastination. Procrastination not only wastes time but can also cause unnecessary stress and anxiety. To avoid procrastination, break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones, and set deadlines for each step. This will help you stay on track and motivated to complete the task.

In addition to prioritizing your tasks and setting goals, it’s important to eliminate distractions. Distractions such as social media, phone calls, and emails can consume a lot of time and disrupt your focus. Try to limit these distractions by turning off your phone or email notifications during designated work times.

Another important aspect of time management is delegation. Delegating tasks to others can help you free up time to focus on more important tasks. When delegating, make sure you choose the right person for the job and provide clear instructions and expectations.

Lastly, it’s important to take breaks and recharge. Working non-stop can lead to burnout and decreased productivity. Taking breaks throughout the day can help you stay refreshed and motivated. Try taking a 10-15 minute break every hour or two to stretch, walk, or meditate.

Taking breaks throughout the day has numerous benefits beyond just refreshing your energy levels. Studies have shown that regular breaks can actually increase your productivity and creativity. When you step away from your work and let your mind wander, it can lead to new insights and ideas that you may not have thought of otherwise.In addition, taking breaks can also improve your physical health. Sitting for long periods of time can cause a variety of health problems, such as back pain, poor circulation, and even a higher risk of heart disease.

By taking breaks to stretch, walk, or even do some light exercise, you can improve your overall health and reduce your risk of these problems. So don’t think of breaks as a waste of time or a distraction from your work. Instead, think of them as an investment in your health and productivity. By taking regular breaks, you can stay focused, creative, and healthy throughout the day. 

In conclusion, time management is an essential skill that can help you achieve your goals and lead a more productive and fulfilling life. By prioritizing your tasks, setting goals, avoiding procrastination, eliminating distractions, delegating tasks, and taking breaks, you can effectively manage your time and accomplish more in less time. Remember, time is a precious commodity, and it’s up to you to make the most of it.

Week 2 Assignment – Showcasing Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Overview

Now that you have been assigned a role on the team, it is your responsibility to make the Project Manager aware of the knowledge, skills, and abilities you bring.Locate a job posting on indeed.com, glassdoor.com, monster.com, or other job boards and read the description of the position. This can be the same one you identified in the discussion for this week. What skills do they specifically call for in your area of expertise? These should sound familiar. This will give you an idea of what real employers are looking for now in your discipline.Take some time to review previous assignments submitted during your time at Strayer or even deliverables you may have submitted while on the job during your time at Strayer, focusing specifically on the pieces that relate to your area of study. Take notes as you review to use to inform your assignment submission.

Instructions

Use the provided Word Document Template to prepare a 1–3 page memo to the Project Manager showcasing the knowledge, skills, and abilities you are bringing to the team. Be sure to provide the following:

• A high-level overview of the key requirements and duties of the job you have just taken with the new company. This can be taken from the job posting you identified in the discussion for this week. The overview you provide should be consistent with what is emphasized in the job posting.
• A URL to the job posting for your position. Be sure that this is a persistent link and a current posting—not one you have used in a previous assignment. Again, this can be the same one you posted as part of the discussion for this week. 
• Explanation of why you are a good fit for this project. You can expand on what you submitted in the discussion for this week. This is your opportunity to reference specific experiences that make you uniquely qualified for this role on the team. Be sure you also include an explanation of why those experiences are relevant to the position.
• A list of any certifications you have. Conduct research online in order to answer the following questions:

1. What are the cellular/molecular mechanisms that underlie this disease? (What are actual “abnormalities” or “deficiencies” causing the disease?)
2. How common is this disease? Are there any particular susceptibility groups? (Be sure to also consider any genetic and environmental susceptibilities.)
3. What are the disease symptoms?
4. What mechanisms are responsible for these disease symptoms? (Note: this is different from answer to question 1.)
5. How is the diagnosis made? What particular clinical tests are used to make this diagnosis? This answer needs to be precise and specific. For example, “blood test” is not a sufficient answer. Your answer must indicate what cellular or molecular components are measured and how, and what particular parameters are used to make the disease diagnosis.  
6. What is the prognosis for someone with this disease?
7. What are the treatment options? (Be sure to mention mechanisms of action of treatments and to consider novel treatments recently approved or in development.)

You are going to write an introductory   paragraph stating your position with 3 supporting paragraphs and then a   conclusion. Feel free to incorporate the fact pattern I gave you as an   example to help prove your point. But you do not necessarily have to   answer the questions posed. I want to see reasoned analysis and  critical  thinking. 1. Respondeat Superior 

Lynne  Meyer, on her way to a business meeting and in a hurry, stopped by a  Buy-Mart store for a new car charger for her smartphone. There was a  long line at one of the checkout counters, but a cashier, Valerie Watts,  opened another counter and began loading the cash drawer. Meyer told  Watts that she was in a hurry and asked Watts to work faster. Watts,  however, only slowed her pace. At this point, Meyer hit Watts. It is not  clear whether Meyer hit Watts intentionally or, in an attempt to  retrieve the car charger, hit her inadvertently. In response, Watts  grabbed Meyer by the hair and hit her repeatedly in the back of the  head, while Meyer screamed for help. Management personnel separated the  two women and questioned them about the incident. Watts was immediately  fired for violating the store’s no-fighting policy. Meyer subsequently  sued Buy-Mart, alleging that the store was liable for the tort (assault  and battery) committed by its employee. Using the information presented  in the chapter, answer the following questions.

1. Under what doctrine discussed in this chapter might Buy-Mart be held liable for the tort committed by Watts?
2. What is the key factor in determining whether Buy-Mart is liable under this doctrine?

2.   Franchises 

Carlos  Del Rey decided to open a fast-food Mexican restaurant and signed a  franchise contract with a national chain called La Grande Enchilada.  Under the franchise agreement, Del Rey purchased the building, and La  Grande Enchilada supplied the equipment. The contract required the  franchisee to strictly follow the franchisor’s operating manual and  stated that failure to do so would be grounds for terminating the  franchise contract. The manual set forth detailed operating procedures  and safety standards, and provided that a La Grande Enchilada  representative would inspect the restaurant monthly to ensure  compliance.

Nine months after Del Rey began operating his  restaurant, a spark from the grill ignited an oily towel in the kitchen.  No one was injured, but by the time firefighters put out the fire, the  kitchen had sustained extensive damage. The cook told the fire  department that the towel was “about two feet from the grill” when it  caught fire, which was in compliance with the franchisor’s manual that  required towels to be at least one foot from the grills. Nevertheless,  the next day La Grande Enchilada notified Del Rey that his franchise  would terminate in thirty days for failure to follow the prescribed  safety procedures. Using the information presented in the chapter,  answer the following questions.

1. What type of franchise was Del Rey’s La Grande Enchilada restaurant?
2. If Del Rey operates the restaurant as a sole proprietorship, who bears the loss for the damaged kitchen? Explain.
3. Assume  that Del Rey files a lawsuit against La Grande Enchilada, claiming that  his franchise was wrongfully terminated. What is the main factor a  court would consider in determining whether the franchise was wrongfully  terminated?
4. Would a court be likely to rule that La Grande  Enchilada had good cause to terminate Del Rey’s franchise in this  situation? Why or why not?
